Assistant Principal- Jamie McDougald
My name is Jamie McDougald and I currently serve as the assistant principal and girl’s athletic director at Iola High School. I have enjoyed my career in education for over 30 years.
I graduated from Nueces Canyon High School. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Angelo State University, I began my teaching career at Kenedy High School for two years before transitioning to Iola ISD, where I have remained ever since.
When I began my career in Iola I decided to continue my education. I hold a Master’s degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University, a Master’s of Education degree in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
While at Iola High School I have taught Speech, Health, PE, Teen Leadership, served as the district librarian and girl’s athletic director. I have also coached various sports and been fortunate enough to lead the volleyball program to 29 playoff appearances, 13 state tournament appearances, and 4 state championships.
I have been married to David McDougald for 25 years and we have a son, Scott, who attended Iola schools from pre-k until high school graduation. He currently attends RELLIS Campus in College Station and is pursuing a degree in Ag Business.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my career at Iola ISD. I have had the privilege of working with some great people! I am very fortunate to work with awesome kids and I look forward to what the year brings.
